Default 96 spindle nut, help..

I have a 96 F150 4x4, I'm replacing everything in the front end and the spindle nut uses a 2 1/2" socket, not the standard 4 prong socket. the nut has a locking clip that no one at the auto store's has ever seen.

Has anyone ever seen this clip and know where I can get then?

Your only hope is a junkyard. And only on trucks that had the three screw auto locking hubs, so late 94's and up. I have had this problem myself, but for different pieces of the hub assembly.

It's a manual locking hub. I got the truck from my father in law. He paid someone to convert it.

Well that piece you are showing is a ford part that comes with a factory auto locking hub assembly. You MIGHT be able to get a spindle nut conversion kit that will eliminate the need for that spindle nut and keyed washer. Those usually have the traditional 4 prong spindle nuts.

I stand partly corrected....you might be able to get them without the hub assembly. It is ford part 3B549. Check ebay.

I'm going to go the hub conversion kit route.
