I need help guys.....i busted my tail off today and im not even done.i didnt even have the proper tools, which made things very difficult.

feedback ASAP plz.
Diagram just shows where things go and what the are, not the best one I know but its what I have. Ok, so If you have the shoes held down correctly the pin comes in through the back, then the spring then the cap hold the shoe on the outside. Did you back off the adjusters as far as they will go? Did you replace them? If so did you get the Left and Right side adjusters on the proper side?

I tried it the other way around by placing the "brake show hold down springs" on first then the shoe itself and finally the cap that holds the spring/pin down.It doesn't work that way for me cause the spring in the "back" is wayyyy to loose.it fits the other way around.

I noticed i had the adjusting lever kit on backwards, but even after i fixed that, the primary shoe (one closest forward and also the shortest shoe) still isn't lined up right.I've tried placing the new durm on like 6 diff times,it's too tight and won't fit.So I adjusted the adjusting screw all the way to the left,in the middle and all the way to the right.either way, this new drum aint coming on.

I don't know what the helk i am doing wrong.i shot a few good pics for back up case i forgot what went where, that helped, but still doesn't help get the job done.

This is my first time taking a back brake off from the rear wheels of any vehicle.I've studied well over the past 9 hours, packing this stuff done info wise.It beats the chit out of me why it wont go on.

any,and i mean any, info you hand out will very helpful.literally!....my back is so sore and i am beat to death working my tail off trying every measure to get this done.if you can think of any lil idea, let me know.i'm open for suggestions

and if ya want, ill take some pics of what i have done so far and post them up for your viewing.maybe you'll see something i dont and point it out.right now it's "close, but no cigar" for me.

Was finally able to put the drum on.It was a tighttttt squeeze, but i was able to do it.The adjuster was down all the way it could possibly go and it still was a very tight squeeze.

before i left my driveway,I drove forward and reverse a few times attempting to break it in,seeing how everything was before taking into the street.Going in reverse was no problem, going forward was.It locked up on me.It broke loose after a few times.

I took it around the block (like 1 1/2 miles) and came back home. The rear was smoking bad.Smelled like very badly burnt steak or something on the grill.

I didn't spray the drum or shoe with any brake cleaner as of yet so I'm thinking that's why it's doing that? Plus, advanced auto said the same thing.Plus the shoes and drum were the correct parts, that was confirmed with them as well.

I know this may be an easy job for most mechanics, piece of cake.I'm not a mechanic, but i aint stupid either and i've worked on vehicles alot in my time. This has been a very tough job, especially since i didn't have the proper tools to work with.
