Suddenly I'm very curious... Replaced the shoes, wheel cylinders, and hardware on my '92 over the weekend. Didn't pay attention to the thickness of the shoes, just directly replaced them as they came off the truck. The shorter surface was on the rear side, longer to the front. Not sure about thickness. Is this wrong?

Fluid level in the master is correct, but it's not really relevant. The system was completely drained and flushed as part of all this (it started when I tried to replace an existing bleeder with a speed bleeder and the old one snapped in half instead of threading out).
Yes, I adjusted the star adjusters.

I'm almost done putting on my new back brake shoes, but the new drum will not go on.the shoes are out too far and i've adjusted everything possible. This chit took me 7 freakin hours just to replace one back left shoe....on number 18 on that diagram....."the hold down springs"....do they ought to be showing outside the shoes or inside (where they're not supposed to show?.....I have them outside and it's pressing the shoes all the way inside, yet this diagram shows that they're outside? I need help guys.....i busted my tail off today and im not even done.i didnt even have the proper tools, which made things very difficult.
feedback ASAP plz.
