Default 96 Bronco E4OD vs 95 F150 E4OD

Hi everyone. I am doing a 4x4 swap into my 95 f150 and I was wondering if anyone could tel me any differences between the 96 Bronco E4OD auto tranny and the 95 F150 E4OD auto tranny. Any differences at all? Anything that will make the swap not possible? Thanks for y'alls help.

Bronco to F150 shouldn't be any problem, but 96 to 95 may be. You'll have to check into the electronic controls (solenoids etc) - they may not match up because they were constantly adding upgrades to that trans every year.
The other thing is that the electronics in a 95 were OBD1 and 96 was OBD2 which could affect things (or not, but it's a consideration).
I'd be concerned about swapping years on an electronically controlled trans, especially swapping between OBD management systems.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. How about just swapping the output shafts?

The tailshaft pretty much goes in first, so the whole trans has to be taken apart to swap one. So, no.
Do some homework, search all over - the electronics might match up but it's important to be sure. Externally they're exactly the same.
Or if you're adventurous you can shove it in and see what happens. Then you can tell us and we'll all know something new.
