Default 95 F150 Gas Tank Size?

I am wondering what size tank my truck has in order to tell if my fuel gauge is working properly. It is a 95 F150 I6 300 EFI with a single tank. When it is showing empty it holds just under 14 gallons but most of the tanks I have found in research say 16. Can someone help with this.

Is it side mount or rear mount. Is the truck short or long bed. Rear is 18 gal always and short bed side is 16 gal and long bed side is 19 gal. Not sure if itd be bigger though if its a single tank

I ran my tank down one time just to see how much it would hold, it held 14 gal. I think that the single tank trucks have a smaller tank than than the rear tank in a dual tank truck. One of the shop trucks is dual tank and it is 18 gal front tank and 16 gal rear tank.

The '95 owner's manual says that the only single tank model is the SWB 4x4 and it is 18.2 gallons.

It is a short bed truck and the tank is located above the spare tire which is located directly behind the rear axle.

Is your truck a 4x4? Won't be the first error that's been found in the owner's manual, but it states SWB 4x4 only.

I found the original window sticker and the single tank was considered an upgrade which cost an extra 116.00. I guess I will just keep getting fuel when it shows empty which is every 14gal.

It is a two wheel drive xlt. It was considered an upgrade to get the single tank.

Okay, so I guess your saying that your truck is not a 4x4? If that's the case, then we can add another note that the fuel tank standards in the owner's manual are not a fact.

Edit.......thanks. That cleared that up. I answer allot of question out of the owner's manuals that I have, so I can make a note that the single tank was optional.
