Default 96 f150 P0500 trouble

i have a 96 f150 5.0 4r70w thats got a p0500 code. I have zero symptoms. Truck shifts perfect, speedo works great. no issues other then a check engine light and flashing o/d light. I have replaced both the trans sensor and the abs sensor. a few times lol. with aftermarket and factory sensors. even swapped sensors off my parts trucks. Just swapped the psom and calibrated that to the tire size. even replaced the connector on the trans speed sensor. I'm not sure what i'm looking here to diagnose. PCM? abs module? shouldn't i have symptoms? looking for a "where to start diagnosing this" form of help.

Follow the pinpoint test steps for P0500?
Those tests should work you through all the twists and turns that circuit makes
Several modules use that sensor signal

got a link to them? I just ordered a battery for my laptop so I can use forscan while driving. Took the truck out on the highway last night and the Speedo is smooth and accurate up to 80mph, not sure I’d want to go faster lol. Also seems to be random when the p0500 comes. I went on maybe a dozen trips Ranging of from 10 to 30 minutes. All different speeds. Less than Half of them caused the the code.

I do not have a link other than All Data for some $ cost
I use my public county library where the All Data is free
You are fighting an intermittent open circuit on that speedo line between modules
Possibly a faulty cluster itself
The pinpoint tests will get it narrowed down for you
May be difficult without all the Ford special tools (breakout box etc)
You will need to read between the lines and backprobe a few connectors without all the Ford stuff

I replaced the connector at the sensor, simply because it was available on Amazon next day and cheap. I seemed to have fixed it. Hasn’t popped back up yet. Hoping I just had some loose barrel connectors Probably from replacing the sensor. Still doubting it was this easy though lol
