Is a 94' too "new" too straightpipe ?
Title says it all, I've got a 94' with a 302 in it and wanted to run some straight pipes from the headers to an x pipe and then run two straight pipes behind that, no cat.
Will this engine be able to run right ?
If I do decide to do this I WILL be getting some custom adjustments to the engine to make it run correctly w/o the o2 sensor. (Trucks running really rich anyways)
Thanks guys

Springer Spaniels Rule
Engine needs mufflers of some sort and o2 sensors, if o2 sensor after cat you will need cat if not will run ok w\o cat, no cats depends on how strict state is, besides cats dont take away from power that much unless it is clogged.

if your truck only has one O2 sensor, it is before the cat. that determines your fuel/air ratio. and thats it. it doesnt care about your aft-cat readings. so yes, you can run straight piped no problem. i think 94's only have 1 O2 sensor...

Yea my truck only has one sensor
Sahweet, just cause my truck is in the shop right now getting a tune up, lift kit and tires done and the mechanic doing everything says I need a cat b/c of backpressure

And I live all the way down in Key West so theres old lifted island trucks running around that definitley don't make state requirements and they dont seem too care
I do remember the fine being really hefty though if I were to get busted

just keep the stock y pipe and cut off the first cat where the 2 pipes actually merge. the o2 sensor can stay on that smaller crossover pipe there. or if you are getting rid of that, put it in your x pipe.
