Hope you plan on keeping this forever, because if and when you try to sell it...you will take a bath on it.

To go along with WarSurfer, who's amazing Raptor is more a RAPTONATOR. Also, check out dezertrangers forum, the guys over there do things the "just put a lift kit in it" guys don't even know is possible. You can check out the classifieds at race-dezert, for what's already been built, you can get ideas and save some money too. Buying someone else's finished project is almost always cheaper and quicker, but it's not "yours" and you don't always know the quality of workmanship.

BTW:Yes, they spell desert with a z out here in California and the Baja dezert land.

It's all about the travel and going wider instead of taller. solomotorsports make a killer Twin Traction Beam kit that can be had in a couple different configurations depending on how much you want to spend. I'm pretty sure it can also be upgraded in stages too.

Hey man, Sorry for all the hate on this. I understand the desire to build something unique and awesome that costs more money to build than its worth. I build vintage motorcycles and get to enjoy the wonderful hate. So here is a proper response
and in my opinion what would need to be done to convert to a raptor style:

The twin traction beam kit is going to be a must for the raptor style you are going for. You will also want to possibly look into building some custom prerunner style fender flares. You will need to go with a prerunner styler bumper set (I'd suggest building your own) would look great with a bronco style rear hitch/spare tire carrier or a 5th wheel tire holder in the bed. Performance wise you would be looking at the sky as the limit. You could supercharge it or possibly turbo. Cheap side you should start with a cold air intake and exhaust kit to go ahead and get cheap performance.

Basically theres a crap ton of stuff to do and 90% will need to be fabricated and hand made (hope you're ready)

Cosmetic:
1) Suspension kit long travel and it will run into the thousands
2) Bumpers
3) Fender flares or prerunner fenders
4) Grill change
5)Tires and wheels (Iwould do 33x10.50)
6) Spare tire mount

Performance wise I would
1) Rebuild the engine with high compression pistons and a larger cam
2) Smog pump delete
3) Full exhaust
4) Supercharge (option)
5) Turbo (option)
6) Cold air intake

Interior
1) Swap bench seat for bucket seats (requires custom seat frame)
2) I would do a light upgrade and whatever else I wanted

Bonus
I'm building a set of rear facing seats mounted to a frame mounted to the bed of the truck. like a subaru brat should be awesome, I'll post pics!

Default It's your truck

I've been hated on and ragged many times on multiple forums for what I've done to my truck. In the end I will do what I want b/c it's my truck, my time and my money. This more than likely isn't what your going for b/c I'm not really going for the raptor look however I had my prerunners on before they did it from the factory. It may be difficult to tell but I have both prerunner fenders and bedsides.

I like what did to your truck rocky I'm just not crazy about the all white. An I would do smaller rims, but otherwise it's a cool truck with lots of time an money invested.
