Default 94 F150 Rebuild. What else should I do?

I want to give my F150 some TLC. Besides a standard rebuild on the motor (Motor has 267K miles). What else should I tackle while the motor is out? Here is a list of things I can think of. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Engine Rebuild $800
  • Engine Rebuild Labor $300
  • Horn Repair
  • Front tank drain and redo
  • Steering Gear box
  • Transmission Rebuild
  • Exhaust
Here are some specific questions?

What is a good exhaust to replace the stock? I want a nice throaty sound. Flowmaster? Too GHetto?

Where is a good place to find a new rebuilt power steering box? My steering is very loose and the guys at the shop said it was in the box.

Where is a good place to find weather stripping for around the windows and doors? Mine is all weather damaged.

My front pseudo chrome grille is peeling and cracking. Where can I find a new one? Possible to rechrome this plastic?

Thank you

My Truck

don't believe the 94 came with the 4.6 V6 as an option... you might mean the 4.9 I6, unless that isn't the original engine in the truck

Engine rebuild and transmission rebuild. I have a 94 5.8 f150 xlt. We have about the same mileage. I was thinking about just dropping the same engine in but one with maybe 100k less Miles.

Injectors as well. With that many miles, you can bet one or two are dribblin.

Nah, the biggest part of pulling the fuel rail on your 5.0 (and 5.8's) is that you have to pull the upper intake to do it.

ah that's not so bad, I've already had the upper intake out once to fiddle with vacuum lines and emissions check valves. how much do the replacement injectors run costwise?

The only thing I really hate on mine is the rust...a lot of salt deposit on the chassis and mud on the engine. Its not horribly bad but I don't want it getting worse
