it sounds like they may have swapped axels instead of changing the gears plus the jeeps had small axels. but you should be fine. i would say anything over 35s and you should get taller gears tho.

People in Jeeps also have to lift just to get as much ground clearance as I have stock last Guy I talked to had 4 inches on 33's an my trucks axel had him beat by 2 inches...

I'm new to this forum but I got a 96 f150 with a 4 inch rough country lift and a 3 inch body. I got stock 2.73 gears and a 300 inline 6 pullin 37 in Goodyear wrangler m/t military tires. I'm wantin to go with some 4.56 or 4.88, anyone know where a good place to buy them from?

No. Not gonna happen. Fordtrucknut probably abuses his truck off road the most on this forum and I think he has 35's and doesn't want to go any bigger. And he has f250 frame and chassis under that f150 body and engine.

If your offloading, I wouldn't go bigger than a 37" tire for mild, 35" for extreme. Street queen, yeah, 40's will work, but you'll go through brakes like no other and your bearings will hate you. Not to mention your u joints and Knuckles on the front end

What size gears would you recommend for 37s?
