Default 94 f150 5.0 runs rough at low throttle

guys I'm new and have a question. I just put a reman engine in my 94 f150. Engine runs good while acclerating but a little rough at cruise. I've pinpointed down to the EGR system but can't figure out what is happening. It seems that the EGR valve is staying open too long. I can unplug the valve and it runs fine. I've replaced the valve and the EGr solenoid but it still does it. You can slowly throttle up and the engine shakes like it's skipping but with the valve unplugged it revs up fine. Any ideas?

clean out the tube that feeds the EGR. Wire brush and some carb cleaner works for me.

Thanks for the reply. The EGR tube is clean. It acts like the solenoid is putting vacuum to the EGR when it shouldn't or the EGr valve is weak.

My inline 6 is doing the same. I changed the intake gasgets, but still the same. I am going to change the vaccum lines this evening as they are dryrotted. I am going to clean my line to the EGR too. Thanks hope we both get this fixed, can be aggravating.

I'm still muckin with this issue. With the EGR disconnected there is a slight vibration around 1500 RPM but when I connect the EGR it gets alot worse. I have looked for a vacuum leak but can't seem to find one. Any ideas? This is driving me crazy. It wasn't doing this before the engine change which makes me wonder if something was hooked up wrong.

Have you checked to see if your Air Flow Sensor is opening properly. I ran across this while checking everything on my truck. Changed the sensor, now everything is fine. If the sensor is not opening properly it is messing with your air flow in and out of the truck. Let me know if that helped.

This is a shot in the dark - check your fuel pressure regulator vacuum line and see if it smells like gas. Just guessing that if it's getting too much fuel via the FPR, it might not be able to handle the EGR as well.
