1993 F150 XLT dual tank
Okay need your help please, I have a 1993 Ford F150 4.9 stick shift that I picked up to use for things around the house. Truck worked fine for a few weeks and one morning while on the highway the truck turned off as if it had run out of gas I pulled over and tried to start it but it would not. Although it showed over more than a 1/4 tank of gas I thought maybe it ran out of gas so I had a buddy bring me a gas can of gas. It started right up I went to the gas station filled it up and went to work. That afternoon at quitting time again it would not start had it towed to the house. Left it there for a few days and tried again would not start but would crank over normally. Got tired of it left it there for over year, one day a few weeks ago I charged the battery put it back in the truck and the truck started as if it was never down. No hesitation or misfires, I drove it around the block and it shut of once but it would start up immediately.
The next day driving it to work it shut off again running about 35-40 mph, but as I was coasting it would start again. If I was at a stop light too long it would shut off but it would start immediately. At times when it would not start immediately I would switch from the rear tank to the front tank, crank it and flip the switch to the rear and it would start again, this went on a few times.
Fast forward to last week I drove all day and the truck worked awesome only shut off once, and again while I was coasting it turned back on. After coming home from the dump, I turned the truck off and till this day have not been able to restart it at all. Not by using any of my tricks...anyone ever had this happen to them. Can you lead me in the right direction, please? The truck drives awesome when I can get it started.
Also for some reason when i went under the truck I noticed that the previous owner has the front tank fuel line crimped off...not sure why so I only have the rear tank for now.

I have not been able to pull the codes, Ive called all the Autozones and Discount Autoparts in my area and none have the OBD1 code scanner. Also if its worth anything the check engine light never turned on.

Umm... Sometimes? I think that we have an average of about 4 threads a day that somehow involve pulling codes on a obd1... Read The Sticky! No offense meant BTW, just that it happens all the time...

Oreilly stocks the innova code reader for $30 and has a digital readout plus helpful book. That's the direction I'd steer folks to. I know you can use a paper clip but well it's only $30.
Let's be honest trying to count flashes sucks. This is one instance where if you don't have $30 you should have bought an econo car.
