Default 94 Automatic Locking Hubs

The automatic locking hubs on my 1994 F150 were locking in and out on there own When I pulled the driver side there was alot of ground up aluminum I was going to replace them with manuals but I can't figure out how to take off the passenger side Under the cap is a aluminum housing that has slots that look as though you use a larger nut wrench on it but it won't turn

i have had the same problem on my 96', if it is the lock nut in the very back of the hub you are talking about take your impact wrench to it, it should spin it right off. if it still doesnt come off you have the same problem i did and the nut welded itself to the spindle. i have since put lock-in lock-outs on mine.

oh ok if its what im thinking its the thing you see when you take the outer cover off the hub, if this is correct there is a lock ring around the outside of it, its hard to see but its there
