I have a 1995 F150 with a 5.8L. It has the E4OD trans and thew OD button is on the shifter. I know for 1995 all 5.8L used the E4OD trans and 5.0 and smaller used the smaller weaker AODE trans. I believe that is alsothe case for 1994 because my previous employer had a 1994 F150 with a 5.8L and E4OD and my older brother had a 1994 F150 with a 5.0L and AODE trans. I am fairly certain yours came from Ford with an E4OD. It is obvious by the transmission oil pan. The AOD and AODE have an almost square pan and the E4OD has a very large rectangular pan who's length is roughly twice the width. You can go to www.napaonline.com and look at the shape of the transmission pan gaskets. For the E4OD, and AODE the shift points are controlled by the powertrain control module (computer). The AOD is not. You might want to start searching wrecking yards, etc. for components to convert it back to fuel injection. For both the E4OD and AODE the computer uses inputs from engine sensors that may now be missing to determine the shift points for both upshifting and downshifting.
