Default '93 2wd manual transmission

Are these things really crappy or is something not quite right with mine? (the transmissions specifically, I like the truck)

It almost always shifts something less than smoothly and often when it is sitting at a dead stop, it will not shift into gear at all. Then, if I try all the gears it will usually grind into revese and then go into other gears fine. I did have the slave cylinder replaced but that didn't seem to totally fix the problem.

My truck has a new clutch, concentric slave cylinder and master but it still on occasion is reluctant to go into first gear. It shifts into all the other gears though really good, never grinding the gears. I do not know if your tranny/hydraulics are the same as mine but mine was sensitive to air in the system. I bled it a few times after replacement and it shifts much better. I do not think these trannys will ever be considered smooth but for trucks I think they are fine.

Thanks. I will try bleeding it and see if that helps, it is a hydralic clutch so maybe that will help.
