Default '92 5.0 issue - no hot start

Alright. I picked up the project truck. I had to drop it off with a mechanic friend due to my working 2 jobs at the moment.
The primary issue right now is that the truck starts fine when cold. Once it runs til hot, it will not start again until it cools down. He did get it started and running roughly by holding the pedal on the floor. He says it has spark and fuel. He is getting a new fuel pressure gauge to check it, but says the spray is very strong at the schrader valve. He did say that there doesn't seem to be power to the obd plug.

Anyone else had this issue?

You'll know more when he gets a fuel pressure gauge on it. Tell him to do a bleed down test too - it should hold pressure for a good 5 minutes at the very least.
I would suspect the possibility of a faulty fuel pressure regulator or injector bleeding down and flooding the engine when you shut it down with pressure in the line.
That's just a guess based on what you said.
Check the FPR vacuum line for a fuel smell.

The module tested bad, so I've got a new one for him to install today. Also gonna throw some parts at it for a tune-up. TPS, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, belt, hoses, thermostat, filters, PCV. We'll see what happens from there.

A bad distributor can also cause this hot no start condition.

As for your PCV valve, in case you don't know, Motorcraft only.

All Motorcraft parts except Gates for the belt/hoses. He should have the new temp sensor and module in tomorrow. I hate having someone else work on my stuff, but 12 hr daytime shifts for the regular job and then sun-up til sundown for the part time job doesn't leave much time to do anything.

Since you're going 100% Motorcraft, take a look at this distributor and rotor. A nice upgrade over the regular Motorcraft distributor and rotor if you can locate these parts.

Progress has been made. My mechanic friend has changed the belt/tensioner/idler, all hoses, t-stat, coolant, oil & filter, PCV. He also installed a Motorcraft module and temp sensor. He says the truck now runs great with no hesitation or big, and starts when hot without issue.
I'll pick it up tomorrow and start having fun with it. Air filter, brakes all the way around including new lines/hoses, chase the electrical gremlin for the locks/windows, and replace all the vacuum lines.
I did have a guy stop me today (I was in my 93) and offered me all 6 front light housings NIB for $50. I'm gonna offer him $40.
