Default

These trucks have a habit of needing fuel sending units. It's a common problem, mine goes past full until it gets to about a quarter tank and then starts to bounce towards empty. If the rear tank has had gas in it for 6 years then I doubt the fuel pump works in it.

Default fuel gauge

the gauge going to full could also mean the float on the fuel pump/sending unit is not attached, or working. drop the tank, pull out the fuel pump unit and look at it. couple of hours work.
