5 speed shifter linkage
Hey guys, I have a 1996 f150 with a 5.0L V8 engine and a 5 speed manual transmission.
I was driving and noticed that when I shifted to second gear the shifter would sometimes pop out, and it didn't feel like it was locking in. Then I heard a pop, and realized that I couldn't shift into first or second anymore. I had to limp home on third.
I think I need to adjust the linkage, but I don't know where it is or how to do it.
What do you guys think?

Springer Spaniels Rule
There are no adjustments to the shifter, Pull the **** off, remove the boot, remove main shaft-take nut off, put nut on threads on opposite side, thread on, it will loosen pin that holds the shaft on, pull shaft off, OR you can loosen the nut and tap the pin out, remove the retainer\boot, its held on by 3 torx screws, lift out shifter to see if any thing is broken or bent. There should be a ball on the end of the shifter. There are also 2 pins in where the large ball ride on.
