Progress is looking good! I admire that you fully disassembled the front fenders and grill. Can't wait to see that 408 in place of the 300.

Tangential question: how do you like the rough country steering stabilizer? I have a 2.5" lift on my 96, with no drop pittman arm, and have thought about getting myself one.

So update, shortly before putting the motor in stuff came up and I took all of it back to summit, this is now a 300 build, I took the head off and sent it to a machine shop, and sent the transmission to a shop to be redone... I have headers and I'm also putting in a new steering box while I have it exposed.

It does alright man, not too noticeable though, I got it for free with my lift.

Nooooooo!

Hope everything is ok. I'm about to swap out my steering box as well. Just did a saginaw power steering pump mod - might be something you want to look into while she's down and out.
