Here's a "before" picture with 31x10.50-R15s, they looked too small to me. The "after" picture is 285/75-R16s on different rims. You might consider 32x11.50s if you're on the edge.

Thanks for the pic. What about any 6 inch lifts with 33's? I just worried about putting a 6 inch on and putting stress on things and them breaking

i've got a 6 inch suspension and 3 inch body and 38's, the only thing that you're gonna tear up is ujoints but you can get them with a lifetime warranty and then theyre always free

That's always an issue when lifting a vehicle. Driveshaft angles change, etc. I wouldn't worry about the difference between a 4" and a 6" lift in terms of wearing out drive components. I would say that 33s look pretty dinky (in my opinion) with a 6" lift. Any bigger than a 33 and your would probably want to consider gearing lower, depending where your truck is currently geared. Otherwise you'll kill gas mileage, as well as having a gutless wonder.

Amen to that, I run lifetime warranty U-joints as well. Out of curiosity, what is your gear ratio?

i have a 8" skyjacker with 38s on my 150, ttb front end with radius arm drop brackets and stock radius arms. they dont make drop brackets for the extended radius arms (sucks *** my **** rubs alot). i would def go 6" over 4" cause its basically the same parts just longer shocks/springs and longer drop pittman arm. the center hinge brackets they send u will have two holes, one for 4" and one for 6". its the same amount of work and as soon as u pass another truck thats a little bigger ur gonna say "damn i shoulda went 6" since i done all the work anyway" and as far as alignment issues the extra tire size dont matter cause my stock bronco will go out of alignment just as easy as my 150 cause the ttb is junk. my 38s go straight and i beat it up pretty good

GO 6"

i was in the same boat as you. i went with 6'' cuz it's only a few more dollars than the 4'' rough country. Now i wanna go more with a 3'' body and 37's. The 35's aren't too bad with the alignment but it def. doesn't drive like a dream. it's gutless as hell too but whatever it's not a race truck.

I'm totally satisfied with a 4" lift, and am not as likely to tip over. Since I use it off road, this is a serious consideration. Just my $.02.

i have a 6" rought country, and 35" buckshots on 15x8 wheels, i have 3:73 gears i think, or 3:45, i'll have to double check, and it's no race car but it does good as power goes, but i only get about 12 mpgs,

My truck has no lift and im running 31x10.50 on it. Plenty of clearence. So i would think with a 4" lift 31's would make the tires look tiny.

I agree with you. I got the same setup. But I do have overload springs in the back and i do think the block in between the leaf and axle tube looks not stock but this is my first ford so I dont know. My truck looks like you would picture it stock but when you park it by the pizza cutter equipped fords it looks way better. Oh and I do get a little bit of rub at full turns with tire pressure at 35. I think the gentleman that made a point of the tippiness has a great point. If you dont need 6" for what you drive on go with the 4". Just be safe and dont get cousin fred to do your lift, get it done right and safe. Maybe even save up a bit more and get some new u-joints and bushings to go in it at the same time. Have some new parts in there so your alignment will be spot on. I know that u-joints dont affect alignment but one of you guys said they snap easier so replace at the shop not in the dirt. Whatever you do, do it safe and dont forget pics.
