Default 351 or 302

Hey guys, I'm thinking about doing a complete restoration (if it's old enough to say that) on my 95 f150 during my automotive schooling, and the main thing I'm wondering about is this: should I keep my 302 I already have and build it up for some more power, or drop in a 351. I intend on making it a daily driver so I don't need a ton of power, but just enough to keep the damn thing from down shifting on the slightest hills.

302 ftw! It would be easier than swapping in a 5.8 and the 5.0's can make great power. It will suit the needs you describe

A built 302 won't downshift on small inclines. Mine doesn't. It used to downshift prior to building the engine up.

A stock 351 won't either. Mine doesn't, even with a small load behind it. But if that's all your wanting, a slightly built 302 will get it done and will be easier. What year truck?

95 maf 302. Do you have any recommendations for things to upgrade? Since its a maf it should adapt to upgrades rather well
