Help: Parking release not engaging
New to the forum! I have a new to me 1995 F150 5.0. 325K Miles but she runs great! Just using it to haul lumber, yard work, etc.
Small problem. I never used the parking break before and today my foot depressed it a little. When I pulled the break release, I could tell it wasnt working (no tension or sound made to release it). I drove it a few blocks and noticed an odd brake clutch smell.
How do I release/fix this issue? I'm guessing there's a cable somewhere that's broken or not hooked up correctly.

Welcome to the site! And, no worries, glad you found the help.
Suggest to have a look at your cables - if the parking brake hasn't been used for a long period, these cables will tend to seize and do exactly what you described. KInd of a pain in the keester to identify which of the three are the real issue, though... Then, there's always the chance something inside the drums' parking brake linkage has seized...
Good luck, and keep us posted.
