4x4 issue, im stuck
I tried searching but I havent come up with much as its hard to describe in a few key search words... but here's whats going on...
When I bought the truck the front auto hubs were about done for so I installed new manual lockouts no problem. A month or so went by and I was getting back onto the road from a field (didnt unlock the hubs, it was a straight road for a mile to my friends) and noticed the *** end of the truck felt like it was bouncing a bit, and the front was dipping down.
What is felt like was the front driver side wheel wasnt spinning as fast as the other three...
Fast forward to a few days ago. I was driving through the snow on the roads and the bouncing came back and the *** end of the truck kept wanting to slide out to the right, as if the front left wheel was slowing down trying to make the truck spin. sounds wierd but this is the best way to describe it.
One last thing... this same night whenever I would brake the front left wheel would clunk really bad once per rotation of the tire and shake the whole truck. My guess is some of the gears in the front diff are stripped out causing it but I don't know that much about differentials.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!
p.s. I have a thread in the introductions forum with a little about me and the truck with some pics. thanks again

I've seen this before with warn lockouts and the most common problem is you've probably installed the clutch backwards. If you have warns then it is real easy to put them in backwards. Sometimes they will work and grab with them turned around but it only covers 1/4 of the spline so if it ate into that 1/4 it may have grooved itself in there and is getting stuck

Look at the tags on the front and rear differentials. Make sure they are same gear set (ratio)
sounds like one of the axles may have been swapped out and the gears do not match.

Check and see if your brakes are dragging or the bearings are sticking. Remember you have 3 bearings on each front axle the wheel bearings and the spindle bearing. The clunk could be from loose wheel bearings or sticking calipers. If it only drags with the hubs locked the spindle bearing might be seized.
