Thanks! Got more disassembly done after work on Monday, pulled the hub and rotor assemblies off, will be removing the spindles, knuckles and driver side radius arm this weekend. Wheel bearings look to have been repacked recently, races are beautiful, bearings spin perfectly and the rollers are perfect. I'll just be repacking the bearings and replacing the hub seals. Spindles are perfect as well. Rotors are in definite need of replacement!

Before you get it put back together you might want to pull the spindles off and check the spindle needle bearings that the axle shaft rides on. Would be a good time to replace that seal also.

I'm pulling the spindles and knuckles anyways to replace the u-joints and ball joints and I'm planning on doing that.

Got the axle pretty much fully disassembled today with the help of the smoke wrench, a 3 foot long 1/2" drive breaker bar, and a BFH plus the appropriate sockets. Came apart fairly easily too..spindle bearings are good so the spindle bearings will just get washed in the solvent tank, re greased, and new seals. I'll be putting up a Youtube video later on today or tomorrow.

Anyone know where I can get aftermarket rotor shields? I really don't want to have to buy them from Ford.

I don't think you can buy them from Ford anymore.

I'll probably just straighten them out the best I can. Here's the the video I made today of getting the axle pulled apart.
