i just thought of something,...

if you're truck will not continue to idle and dies out,....try this....

turn your crankshaft and get you're no.1 piston at top dead center.

when you have it at TDC (top dead center) - try to intentionally get it 180 out by continuing to turn the crankshaft (slowly, while you have a helper shine a light in the no.1 piston hole) until the no1 piston comes up to TDC again. once it comes back up the second time, bolt everything back together and try to start it. let me know what happens....

also, make sure you double check the rotor position under the distributor cap every time you turn that crankshaft and realign top dead center. make sure your rotor is at the no.1 plug wire contact even when you intentionally try to get it 180 out...

I did. it was a very small break in the wire going into the coil. This gave me quite the trouble as I was getting all kinds of false readings.

problem was I had a very hard to find open at coil. This would touch sometimes and be open others so I had a variety of false reading. only found it when I had slowly ran fingers on the wires to see it they had a break. darn hard to find
