Default 1996 F-150 302 lugging/hesitating/loss & gain of power

I am new to the page, but I have a 1996 f-150 with a 302 in it. Never had any problems out of it, besides the fact that it lacks power in any gear up until I give it full throttle. In just about any gear it hesitates & sputters, & I usually just give it full throttle & it kicks into power & goes. Here lately I've been letting it hesitate and sputter & eventually it will just make a loud popping noise from directly beneath me & kick into power. I don't reckon it sounds like a backfire or anything, but more like a metal object freeing itself from another metal object. It has me, my daddy, & the mechanics confused so any help would be appreciated. I've replaced timing chain, ignition module, spark plugs & wires, distributor, & coil pack. One mechanic, after driving it, told me it felt like it was starving for gas, but he never let it hesitate to hear the popping noise. So I also replaced fuel pump, filter, & regulator.

I've replaced the throttle positioning sensor too, sorry about that. Getting 35 psi at idle, and I have two codes for the 02 sensors: P0135, & P0155. The last code is P0113. The last code said something about faulty PCM, but those are expensive and would like to know for sure before I replaced that. Any other things that could cause that code?

O2 sensors been changed ? They can cause these problems. Computer goes in limp mode with faulty O2 sensors.

It has none. We wired in simulators in replace and it clears the code. Only reason it's still reading the code is I had to order two 10 ohm resistors for the simulator.

Catalytic Converter. The metal clunk your hearing is the media inside the converter moving around. The engine is being choked to death. After driving it awhile look at converter and see if its glowing red?

You can also tap on the bottom of the converter and listen to see if it rattles inside.

does it do it on both tanks ? if it has both tanks and not one single tank I would look at tank switching valve its behind front tank on frame ...I cant remember if my 96 has it my 92 and 88 does and I had problems with both truck starve from fuel ..........no codes though ....my 92 did something stupid one day and wouldn't crank and run on back tank but after you switched it to front tank it would crank and run and going down road at 35-55mph switch to rear tank it ran but lagged power ..back fire spit like hell no code ended up not running at all and I found ecm was bad ...water will get in behind front plastic flap and make a mess of diodes
