if its not the fuel filter id replace the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor button if its been a while. a bad wire will get worse under load, so if you're high rpms at 55 and low rpm in a higher gear at 65 that would make sense.

Well I found out from my parents and I crawled underneath the truck. It does have a new fuel filter and plugs, wires and distributor with rotor. That didn't help what was wrong with it. I don't know what it idles at it doesn't have a tach but it idels pretty smooth.

so no rough idle hmmm try checking the fuel rail pressure see if its within specs with the engine running and it prob wont make a difrence but lift the rear up and throw it in gear and see when it hits 55 if it does the same thing prob wont cause no load but eh all i could think of is lack of fuel or air

i would not lift the rear end and go 55, that sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Haven't you seen ferris buellers day off?!

I wish I had a lift, life would be soo much easier. But regardless of how new the fuel filter looks, replace it. They cost less than 10 bucks and just because its new doesnt mean you didnt suck a bunch of garbage from the bottom of the tank into it. Check it for engine codes, it could be a speed sensor or something electronically controlled like that. Thats definitely where I would start.
