Default 1995 4x4 f150 5.0l cranks but wont start!

Please someone help? Ive got a 95 5.0 f150 that I use for work. For a while now Ive had some starting problems where my truck doesnt start in the rain or cold ,before this started to happen only some mornings it would crank a little longer than normal before starting but I thought nothing of it but now its bad! Ive done everything from changing the distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, starter module, wires, and had ignition module tested and still wont start in the rain. I brought it to my mechanic after all these parts were changed by me and he's been messing with it for a week and cant seem to find the problem either, only thing he did was disconnect the old clifford alarm that was in it but I dont think thats the cause, so far he says the truck starts fine but it did stall on him before removing the alarm. heres what he said he found when it only turns with no start. fuel pump turns on, all power is there, engine turns, no injector pulse and no spark, he also said maybe the ecu is shot or going. I think its the tps or the ignition module I had tested maybe it works when it wants too. help! https://www.f150forum.com/images/smilies/help.gif

Best bet is to check for codes - this thread will show you how:

Probably not the TPS - if it's the PIP or ICM, you'll get codes to guide you. Just post what you find, and we can help figure out what to do next.

Nope. 95 is still OBD1 with only a few exceptions. The 94 Mustang is one such exception.

Which motor? My 95 4.9L is OBD1. Everything else Ford that has the 5.0L in 95 is OBD1, can't see them using it strictly for the F-150. Maybe it was a late 95 when they were just starting to switch things over?

Agreed, also there was a TSB out from ford that dealt with this, there could be a short in the wiring harness that runs under the passenger side motor mount. Fuse E Blown, Short Circuits, Common Locations TSB 95-02-11 for 94-95 Bronco & Trucks; Miesk5 Note; also see TSB 95-5-21 for 92-95 Bronco & F Series Source: by Ford via Steve83 (Steve, That dirty old truck) at SuperMotors.net

TSB 95-5-21 Fuse "E" Inoperative - ABS Light On - Back-Up Lamps Inoperative - DRLs Inoperative - MIL On - Speedometer Inoperative
ISSUE: On some vehicles the HO2S wires in the 12A690 (subassembly of the 14B060 battery cable) harness may become chafed and the vehicle could exhibit any one of the following conditions:
ABS light on
Speedometer inoperative
Back-up lamps inoperative
Daytime running lamps inoperative
Trailer battery charge relay inoperative
MIL on, displaying Codes: 172, 173 or 41 for HO2S failure
Inadvertent PCM Self-Test miesk5 Note; I beleive this is causing the grounding issue; I forget the ckt details now but I know da "VIP Data Link" Ckt shares the Ground w/FP Relay (LB/O).... here is da VIP... connector pi-out by ford via Steve93

ACTION: Replace the damaged wire harness and HO2S sensor. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the solenoid terminal and positive battery cable from the starter.
3. Pull the cable downward to inspect the 12A690 harness for chafing, pinholes, etc. If necessary, remove the convolute and tape from the 12A690 harness located next to the lower RH side engine mount.
4. If the 12A690 harness is damaged, replace the 14B060 assembly (F5TZ-14300-EA) and the HO2S sensor (F4UZ-9F472-A).
5. Inspect Fuse "E" and replace if necessary (D9ZZ-14526-D).
6. Clear all codes stored in memory.
7. Retest and verify the concern has been resolved.

Found these issues on several trucks. But get the codes first. Also, one other weird problem I had on my truck was a bad gauge cluster. I f all else fails check the printed circuit on the bad for cracks or shorts

well mine was a 95 F150 with a 5.8 so its possible they didnt put OBDII on the 5.0 till 96. you can tell yourself which you have, if its OBDII its got a plug under the dash on the driver side, basically straight down from the steering column if its OBDI you'll have the test plug under the hood, driver side near the firewall on the fender.
