The largest tire that came from the factory on 1987-96 F-150's were:
P265/75R15 LT
And that was an Option that required different rims than the standard tire.

Usually the 4WD F-150's had P235/75R15 LT

I misunderstood the question when I first posted this reply.

I'm not sure about clearance for the 315 tires.

How can a tire be both a P passenger car and a LT light truck tire at the same time. Some have the 33X12.50R15 LT on their stock truck with no to little rubbing, though most have had to shim the front bumper out some. The LT 315/75R16 are real close in size to the 33X12.50 tires.

They are actually equivalent to 35x12.50 and will not fit stock.

Default Ford Option Code: T7W = P265/75R15XL tires

mitchalvin asked:

You're right, thanks for straightening me out, lol

It's XL instead of LT.

Ford Option Code: T7W = P265/75R15XL tires

ok I got my 315/75-16 wheels and tires on.the only thing I had to do was shim the front bumper about an inch.no rubbing unless I go over a steep banking.I'm in the process of installing 3" blocks in the rear and 2" spacers in the front
