Default Neutral saftey switch problems

My truck has an issue with starting, the nss is stopping it from starting in park, the shifter lever has to be moved around mainly up into park more. I replaced the switch (on transmission), & tried to adjust it correctly & its still not starting correctly. Is there a way to bypass it electrically? Or any body know anything that can help? 1991 f150 4.9 e40d

Did you try the switch on the steering column? Does it start in neutral and not park?

Did not know of a switch on the column, the nss on my truck is the plastic piece on the transmission itself. It was only starting before when I held up the shifter in park or moved it around. It starts great when I jump the solenoid. I tried adjusting the nss again, and now it will not even start... only starter solenoid jump works right now.

If you really want to bypass it then connect the two red/blue wires at the switch.

There is only 1 red/blue wire, and 1 red white wire... I tried connecting them and same thing. The switch was just replaced with a new Napa part.

My diagrams say there are two red/blue wires. Later years show white/pink.
