Default Anyone know where to get this grommet?

Ok guys I know what I'm looking for but I was wondering if you all could point me in the right direction. Somehow or another the rubber grommet that's on the bottom passenger side that looks like a C mysteriously fell out of place and is now letting my tailgate at the bottom when shut flop back and forth just a hair. The piece I'm talking about is rubber and the tailgate can be lifted up from that side first I presume. I hope you guys can help me out because I hate hearing my tailgate rattle when I hit a bump in the road because of this.

Also, my truck is a 91 F-150 and my father's tailgate has the same identical piece except his grommet is still in place and his is a 95 F-150.

Yep - know exactly what you're talking about - now if I can only remember where I got my replacements. Thinking it was on online site - may check out rockauto.com, lmctruck.com, or maybe JCWhitney.

Another thought is to check the HELP products display at the AutoZone or local parts store - they have unusual trim items and shtuff - maybe have some luck there?

If nothing else, use the five-finger discount on your dad's truck :-)~

Oh - and welcome to the site!

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking either hitting up a junkyard or going to a Ford dealer but I do suppose some magazines may carry the little grommet thing. If you happen to think of where you got your please let me know.

Usually they just move it to the proper section.

I'd go to the junkyard. I know what you're talking about but mine don't stop the rattling anymore.

Yeah I'm gonna head to the junkyard in the morning and see what they have to say price wise versus going to the dealer for a new one.
