Default Wanna swap engines, need help!

Hello,

I'm new to this forum. I've got a 1986 F-150 with a straight six in it and I want to swap motors. I've never swapped a motor but I will have help from experienced people who have swapped motors. I just need to know which v8 motor I can use without swapping tranny, transfer case, etc. So if it's possible I just want to swap just the motor. If you guys can give me any leads to which size motor I can use the better. Thanks guys!

P.S. Bigger motor the better lol!

I take it your truck is carbed...?

the 302 (5.0L) or 351 (5.8L) both have the same bolt pattern as the 300-6...

you might need the frame mounts as well as the motor mounts...simple swap with a carb...

Thats what i think as well, i've been doing research and the 460 was like a lost step child through the years, they changed something like almost every year so its hard to find matching parts, WINDSOR will sound yummy in the belly of my beast too
