Default 1993 f150 with 5.0 Belt problem

Hey guys, I got my '93 f150 with 5.0 in it, and for some reason the pully for the tensioner seems to be misaligned (crooked a lil outward tward radiator about 1/8 of an inch). It's been chewing my last rib off the outside of my serp belt, and moving the belt over a rib (moving the belt right on the tensioner pullys outside edge). This is only my 2nd f150 so I'm not too sure what it might be. I know I tried to change the spring on the tensioner (got a junkyard spring and OMFG what a beyotch that is to put back on) maybe I put it on wrong I dunno but any help/techniques with that tensioner design would be appreciated. But the spring swap didn't help, same thing the pulley still misaligned. I don;t know if there is a bolt that might be loose that I have no idea about but any suggestions will help. Thx guys.

Got a pic? I cant seem to visual it in my head my pulley for the tensioner
is all flat and smooth cant see how it would misaligned the belt.
Either way there is a bolt that holds the pulley on the arm might be loose?

Stop trying to fix the bad tensioner and just buy a new one from the parts store.

The tensioner is not expensive and a service part anyway.

I got a Fuel Injected 302, and the tensioner seems to be crooked toward the radiator about and 1/8 of an inch. I heard some high pitched whining (intermittently) from the motor which would go away after higher RPM's, and one of the ribs on the serp belt is chewed right off from it running off the tensioner pully a little bit. I bought it like this thinking it was easy fix, drove it for a while, (no probs at all ran and drove fine) then I tried to replace the spring for the tensioner (got a junkyard one that seemed to have good tension) thinking the one I got is just worn, and omg how much trouble it is to put the spring on the tensioner and the tensioner back on the engine. Finally I got it back on, seemed like it went on a lil bit better than it was before, but after further inspection it was practically the same, and still was crooked. My question are: 1 - Any ideas why my tensioner is crooked a bit and chewing belt off (maybe bolts on the bracket are loose or stipped or something I dunno). 2 - Any helpful ideas on how to put tensioner on the right way (I'm not ford savy yet) 3 - If I buy a new tensioner will It have the spring installed on it or will I have to put it on then try to install it while holding togeather like I just did witht he junkyard one. Thx for the words of wisdom guys I need em.

Yes, the new one is just a bolt on deal, very easy. If the idler pulley on the tensioner is bad it will need to be purchased separately, also from the parts store.

looks like either the tensioner or the bearing on the pulley is bad.
