Default 1993 8.8" rear end. What gear oil do I use???

Hi, I'm gunna be doing my axle bearing and seal and was wondering when I get everything back together what gear oil should I use and how much should it take ???

Do you have a traction-loc unit or open differential?

75/90 or 75/140 and get 3 qts. Probably only take 2 to do the job but may be a few ounces more needed.

Well not necessarily... The trac-loc could be worn out

Check the door jamb sticker, it will tell you if you have a limited slip differential or non LS.

19 – 3.55 Non-LS
18 – 3.08 Non-LS
H9 – 3.55 LS
B6 – 3.73 LS

If you have LS you need LS oil with an additive.
