First off. I took the battery to napa....Its good...Next... I tried to bypass the starter with a screwdriver....just sparked....didnt even try to turn over.... is the starter and selenoid together on this model? 1992 F150 8cyl automatic....or the selenoid behind the fender. any other ideas on whats wrong? when i try to start the truck it just gives one click when i turn the key. I already purchased a new starter with the selenoid on it....they look the same but i just want to make sure before i have a mechanic tell me i need to return it and get the other one. This just happened saturday dec 20th and i am going to have the mechanic look at it on the 22nd....im just asking so i would know myself what the problem could/couldnt be. Thanks!

check your battery cables, sounds like theres alot of resistance somewhere

check the spade lug connectors on the smaller wires to the starter
