1992 f150 dual tank problem
I have a 1992 f150 that has dual tanks. I am experiencing the tank flow problem whereby gas from one tank flows to the other and vice-versa. I understand the truck was recalled, so I went to A Ford dealer and they could not verify the recall was ever applied since the database only goes back 10 years. I was fine with switching tanks watching were the gas was going until the rear tank fuel tank died. Now I am stuck siphoning gas out of the rear tank back into the front tank.
My question; I can get by using only the front tank, is there any way to stop the flow of gas to the rear tank? I am willing to remove it, or plug a gas line.

Duel tank issue
I'm having the same problem..sort of. My front pump is failing and when I use it the truck runs aweful, but when I run off of the rear tank the truck runs fine and the front tank keeps over filling. I've been siphoning fuel from the front and putting it back in the rear tank. I plan to change the front fuel pump next week, but I'd like to know where you got with this.

The only solution is to replace both in-tank fuel delivery modules, or at least the one that receives fuel. This solved several problems on my '96, including rough running and cross-filling.
It is easiest to remove the bed. Buy new lock rings.
Older models have a selector valve mounted to the driver side frame rail near the front tank
