1992 f150 302 Flowmaster 40
So I just got my exhaust installed on my truck. Had them throw on a single in dual out flowmaster 40 and had it dumped before my axle with downfire pipes. HOLY HELL its loud. The true sound of my 302 is kicking in now. Im debating on cutting my cat but i think it will be too much unless i run duals out my back. I can barely hear now at a 45mph cruise. What to you all think about my Cat being cut?

I've got no cats with 5" tips going out the back. A lot louder than your truck.. I love it but if you don't like your setup now you won't like it with no cats

I'm not getting into it again. All I say is cats do a lot of good and don't hurt the performance. You just said your exhaust was loud why waste time and money removing a good part just to make more exhaust. If you want to see my technical info on cats or my rants on the subject just search cats or true duals. Or if you are truly interested in tech info I'm happy to offer it.

Cut the Cat, Cut the Cat, Cut the Cat. I have a 92, F150 with the 302. The truck came stock with Shorty Headers, I cut the cat out and installed the Flowmaster 40 with 2.5" pipe.
I love it........

He probably bought the truck used and the previous owner had them on there so he assumed they are stock. The only time I have seen a performance gain by taking out cats is on bikes. I dyno them all day everyday, but usually its not enough to notice if you were riding and sometimes it makes the power worse. If I was you id leave it alone and if it bugs you that much put a high flow cat on there.
