1992-1996 Ford F-150
Alright, im a 17 year old ,first of all, looking for a 1992-1996 F150 4x4, i love these ninth gen trucks, dream trucks. I should be getting one this summer, im going to make sure it is a clean truck because i plan on keeping it for a very long time and rebuilding the engine when i get it. Now, i was curious, what are the pros and cons of these trucks? what do you recommend i do to make it one bad ***** dailydriver and weekend mudder.

learn how to work on them. cause unfortunately olders FORDS are exactly that, Fixed Or Repaired Daily Servicing. dont get me wrong, i love these 9th gen with a passion but ive had f150,f350 4.9,5.0,7.5 and as great as they all ran and drove they all required monthly maintenance.

Unless daddy's paying for everything make sure you can afford it. I'm 17 as well, your looking at around $500 a month on gas depending on where your drive and insurance is a killer. That's a con, some pros are they easy to work on and their one of the better looking trucks out there.

Im also 17, what truck of that age isn't gonna require more maintenance? A Chevy would probably be daily! Lol. And they look alot better than the Chevys of those years. These year model trucks are badass. I love mine they say if you really love your vehicle you won't mind spending money on it but if you don't really like it your gonna hate having to spend any money at all on it.

I'm 17 too! I love my truck, I usually spend about 25 a week on gas and 120 a month on insurance (high connecticut insurance). It requires a good amount of work, just get it checked out before you buy to get an estimate of how much things you need to fix or replace. Also you can make money with the truck by doing dump runs to make the money you invested back

Dodge+Ford = always ready
only problems iv personally had was with the transmission in the 96 f150. other then that, people seem to have alot of trouble with the dual tanks and cross filling. also rear leaf spring hangers rust out. other then that, i usually aim for the 96,97 9th gens just because ford seemed to fix alot of the problems that the older ones had, practice makes perfect and they had 3 years to fix problems till the 96 came along. the 96 f150s are OBDII (like Sean said) and it isn't hard to get most things for it, much much easier to tune OBDII and diagnose problems also.
