sorry i have taken so long to post progress. took the truck to another mechanic and told them to diagnose as if i had not changed anything. they told me the distributor was bad so i exchanged it under warranty for another remand distributor and had to get yet another module as the faulty distributor had fried another one. truck is running fine now but still keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the update. We should always keep in mind that just because we replaced something, it doesn't mean we can eliminate it as a problem. The previous owner of my truck replaced just about everything ignition - related, including the pcm. In the end, he finally figured out the new one was bad. Replaced it and it fired right up. He had parked the truck for over a year because no one could figure out why it wouldn't start.

My 90 did the same thing about 5 years ago and it drove me nuts for awhile...even Ford couldn't figure it out. It was the computer.Glad you got it worked out,
