Default 1989 F150 horn relay location

Hi All,

Im in the process of repairing my horns that don't work. When i press the horn in the truck I dont hear any clicking from the relay so would like to replace but Im unsure of its location. By the way I removed the horns and their badly rusted; one with holes.

Thanks,

Aaron

i don't know if this helps but... my horn doesn't work either, however, when i push the steering wheel i do hear a clicking, sounds like a relay to me, and it seems to be coming form the passengers side kick panel area.

my trucks a 1990, hope this helps

Default Horn relay location 1991 f-150

I realize this is an older post, but I have an older 91 f150, and spent the better part of the day trying to figure out the horn not working issue.

Anyhow, to get to the relay you need to take out the glove box. Easy enough to do too. It is just inside to the right. There are four wires...A dark blue, a light blue, a yellow with green stripe, and a yellow with blue stripe.

Why the relay would be on the passenger side of the truck still boggles my mind!

Hope this helps someone save some time, and lots of frustration.

I will also add that I did away with the relay. I cut the whole plug off and wired the light blue to the yellow w/green stripe, and wired the dark blue to the other yellow w/ blue stripe. My horn now works

I will give an update if my wiring has a meltdown.

Try looking up from underneath the truck at the drivers side headlight. There should be 2 horns right below the headlight.
