Default 1989 F150 headlight replacement

Hi Everyone,
I did a search on this and wasn't really satisfied on what I found. I finally took the plunge and bought new headlight assemblys for my pick-up. The problem with I believe,1987-1991 is you have to replace the whole assembly if it is a XLT Lariet, which mine is. This includes the chrome trim also! Everything comes in and out as a complete package=MONEY! I don't want to spend anymore money on someone putting them in and the Haynes manuel is useless on this! If anyone has done this before I would appreciate any insights or tips! Thanks!

yes. its very easy. its like long division, easy, but time consuming.

all it is four bolts bolting the whole assembly in. the grill attaches to the whole assembly. then theres i believe 3 bolts holding the parking light on. after that, its all off. good luck with it man. its not hard, i believe in you!! lol

It is not that difficult to do, I just replaced mine, on my 96 F150. Also, you may find that the marker light and turn signal are seperate parts, but that they are screwed to the chrome trim frame.

Hi Dewman,
Well from what I can tell this is a COMPLETE unit that nothing comes off of! That is the problem and why these fixtures are about $110 apeice! Wish they came apart,I could of got some decent replacements from the junkyard. Thanks!
