Default 1989 f150 302 no cold start

Old blue has a problem with not starting when engine is cold. Have to use a squirt of starting fluid and it fires right up and after it warms up you can drive everywhere and it restarts fine. But if sits all nite or until engine cools, again no start. No codes, has between 31-38psi fuel pressure, new plugs, fuel filter, rotor etc. Any suggestions are welcome. I dont want to buy stock in the starting fluid company. Thanks.

Hey man check your fuel pump, sounds like the rails are not staying primed, you may be getting 31-38 lbs while running which is right where it should be but when your truck sits the fuel is going back into the tank instead of sitting in the rails. Thats what I would check.

Thanx for the reply. Left fuel pressure gauge on over nite and checked this morning and had a good 35psi, so she didnt bleed off from the rails. This afternoon pulled coil wire and checked spark it was strong yellow and took several plugs out and checked, they only had a weak looking yellow spark.
Is it possible that ignition coil is going bad? Thanks again.
