Default 1988 f150 stalls

1988 f150 4.9L. When i start the truck from dead cold it starts fine and high idles for a little bit and returns to normal idle. It will idle fine but if you try to drive off it will miss and stall. If you rev it up in nuetral you can hear a hesitation, you have to keep revving it up for a while until the hesitation goes away and it will run fine for the rest of the day. I have replaced many parts not just for this reason it is just an old truck. I've replaced the fuel filter, high psi fuel pump, fuel pump in tank, egr valve, all 6 injectors, fuel pressure regulator, map sensor, throttle position sensor. One note i did not mention the temp gauge does not work. Replaced the temperature sending unit and the instrument cluster but still doesn't work. I dont think that has anything to do with cold stalling issue. Please help if you know what I sjould do. Thanks.

Sensor for the gauge is on the passenger side back of the block.

I am not much of a mechanic. I took it to parts store but they said it was too old for their machine. I have heard there is a way to get codes with a paper clip jumper or something of the sort. Do you know how i can retrieve codes?

Sean's got a posting right at the top of this section I believe.
Also wouldn't hurt to check your plugs if you haven't already.
