Default 1987 Ford F150 dual gas tank bypass

Hello, I am really excited to be a part of this forum. This is my first post, but I hope to spend much more time here in the future. My truck has dual tanks, and an issue with fuel pressure surging, making the truck idle up and down. Everything has been replaced IAC etc on the top of the engine as well as the fuel pump. It was traced down to the valve that splits the line into two back to the tanks. I only use the front tank. Can bypassing the valve that splits the two be done easily without interfering with the fuel pumps? Meaning if I reroute the fuel line directly with the front tank, do I need to worry about the fuel selector solenoid not powering up the fuel pump?

The valve that is in the rear that you are talking about is the problem and for a mere $18 cost at ForD you could just put ia new one in and be done with it all no bypass or nothing.

Thank you, the other tank is not usable, $18 is really cheap, do you happen to have the part number?
