Default 1987 f150 4 speed to 6 speed

Is it possible to buy a 6 speed and install it on a 302 (yeah any thing is possible) but is it possible that there is a direct fit transmission no cutting or welding or changeing mounts and cross members. i have a topshift 3 speed O/D

Thanks Tom

You might have to get the bellhousing back, inc. the flywheel, clutch, and the most important thing is the pilot. There are two input shaft sizes, I found the hard way, measure both transes, all of the mounts should fit, the only thing might be the driveshaft. Considering this is a 4x2, if it is a 4x4, you might have to get the matching transfer case. One thing I found about Fords, considering how complicated people think they are, you could put "any" ford motor\trans combo into any vehicle, with a little research and the proper mounts.

If the tremac was made for a Ford, then it should pretty much bolt in with the proper bellhousing and hardware. Oh forgot to mention the shifter, it might set back a little farther if it is a car trans.
