1987 f150 302 v8 cutting out
Bought a 1987 f150 with the 302 v8 this past april. Truck has been running fine until last week. Drove to work last saturday ( drive 30 miles one way ). Truck was running good, around 45-50 mph. Suddenly cut out and died. Pulled over and it cranked right up. Drove it this past monday to and from work, and had no problems. Drove it wednesday, got about 15 miles from work, and it started cutting out. Feathered the gas pedal, and 5 more miles it cut off. Pulled it over, tried to crank it, but battery died after 3-4 tries. Buddy brought a jump box, and it cranked right up. Pulled it into a nearby parking lot and called a buddy that operates a garage. He towed it, and i called him today to check on it. He said he drove it, and it ran fine. He said the fuel filter looked good, and the fuel pressure was good. I think it might be the tps valve or the iac valve. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I would be looking for a no-spark condition when it dies on you. Does it ever cut out and then not start right back up?
I had a similar problem with by 94 F150 302. Would randomly cut out on the highway, would usually start back up but sometimes would not restart for several hours. It would crank and crank but not start. Found out the pickup-coil in the distributor was going bad (search this and you will see lots of people have this problem). It could also be the ignition control module, or even something as simple as a corroded wire from the ignition coil to the distributor.
