Could just be a exhuast leak

Yes I know infamous exhaust leak. They are old headers. Worth a look when I get the time. But I'm unsure is there a soapy method to find one or a "easy" way to find it if there is one...?

Smoke. If you get it going into the intake and just crank the motor .... you'd have to get inventive but I've heard of that one

Okay pulled passenger side valve cover. While running went through the the rockers. My tapping is not coming from them and now with the valve cover off it sounds more like lifters...
So with modded exhaust and modded intake no step up on my cam or anything. B u t heavier injectors and a decent spark system. Can i replace with hydrolic lifters? If they are not already? I plan on finding a kit for new roller rockers springs and lifters. Any suggestions. Trying to knock this out this weekend. ?.?.
