Fuel pressure tester was missing the valve rod in the center, took me a couple minutes to figure out why I had 0psi but running. Getting a new one in tomorrow.

Anyone have a good way to test for/pinpoint exhaust leaks?

U have to plug every thing off for a smoke test. 19 Hg.in is not that bad. There is only 7-10 hoses to test and a can. I just test the them with a hand pump. And spray the in take with carb cleaner.

I was talking about the exhaust, almost sure I've got a small hole between o2 and manifold, it's just so cramped in there it's hard to get a line of sight to find it. With the engine vac like it was I'm not thinking there is a leak in any of the components or hoses, plus the truck runs perfectly, just the annoying CEL for system lean.

I would give it one go on the testy and then move on cleaning and testing other stuff. The problem is that it is a is or was code. Is it a contentious code?

I've unhooked the battery for 30+ minutes, as well as pulled the jumper during the test and it keeps coming back after a drive across town. Now it does seem to show up faster when I baby the throttle, but takes longer if I get a lead foot.

Got the new Fuel Pressure tester and it read 0psi again, hooked it up to the caddy and my convertible and still got 0psi. Took it back, thinking I was not doing something right and no one there could get it to read anything on any of the 4 vehicles we hooked it to. I had the engine running and tried to disconnect it and gas was spraying everywhere so I'm going to take that as I've got good pressure, tired of dicking with these testers.

Considering just replacing a bunch of gaskets, kind of hate to do it because I feel I may just be throwing parts at it but at the same time she's got a lot of miles on her and it probably should be done. Considering intake manifold gasket, plenum gasket, exhaust manifold gasket with the extra gaskets for the connections to the down pipes, oil pan gasket (which has been slowly leaking since I got the truck but not enough for me to really care about-maybe 1.5-2 quarts in between oil changes), also a new motorcraft pcv, and a new fuel filter. $60 shipped and a day of wrenching, any thoughts on if I should or not.

FREAKIN SWEEEEET!

So I was upgrading the headlight wiring to handle/put out more power when I just happened to see that a white connector behind the battery wasn't clipped in. I had to unhook two connectors back there when I installed the 130amp alt, the same time I started getting my 172 code, thought "well maybe". Pushed it all of the way together then finished up the wiring. Took her for a 30-40 minute drive and the cel light didn't come on one time. Pulled my codes and it was like hitting the jackpot, nothing but 111's. Still considering the pcv, fuel filter, and maybe the oil pan gasket but so glad I don't have to hunt this stupid code down anymore. Thank you everyone for the suggestions and help.
