Hey guys i am back,
As some of you know my 73 Bronco sport was stolen recently and was quite badly damaged. I decided to put off buying a new truck until the repairs were made and things were back to normal. Now that things are taken car of I am ready to buy. I have decided on a 2013 FX-4 with either the 5.0 or the 6.2. Both would be screw SB and would have 3.73 gears, luxury package and the FX appearance package. I do tow about 3 times a month and my current truck(04 5.4 scab 4x4) does the work fine, but i would like noticeable more power if i am getting a new truck. Now with that being said I am concerned with fuel economy but my current 04 gets 14.3 in town and 18ish on the highway but if it drops to 13 I could manage but better fuel economy would be nicer too. What are real numbers you guys are getting with the 5.0 and the 6.2 ? Is there anyone who bought the 5.0 and is wishing they went for the 6.2 ? I would probably do a cold air intake and exhaust on on either one but the 5.0 some guys are tuning and making almost the same power as the 6.2 with a Boss 302 intake, exhaust and 5 star tune. I am on the fence about either motor and a Eco is not a option(cant stand the sound). I would like my truck to be decently fast because i have a a** of a neighbor who just bought a 5.7 Hemi and thinks he has the coolest truck in the world. What do you guys think ? What would you do ?:help: Any insight would be appreciative.:D

Thanks Dade

I REALLY am thinking about pulling the trigger on a set of M16's here soon, but I hardly can find any information on them, or anyone who has them & has had them for an extended period of time. Help, I've got to get away from these Nittos!!!:jester:

Hey guys I know this isn't really truck related but for some time now I've really been wanting to learn how to weld. I know the basics but I really need to practice. I don't have time to go take a class or I would. I'm kind of limited on my welder. I'm using a wire fed craftsman welder. It doesn't have a gas hook up. Also all it has Is a high and low amp setting but about 10 different speed settings. What is a good cheap DIY project I could do for my truck? What would be the best metal to use and size?

I've got my project ideas narrowed down to either:
Rocksliders/steps
Bull Bar
Light bar that mounts about the same way a bull bar does
Or maybe a dolly for the garage..

I really want to build an off road bumper for my truck one day but that's far off.. I'm thinking either the light bar or bull bar would be best. I do have a pipe bender as well. I'm thinking of sticking with square tubing just to make it a little easier on me.

What do you guys think? Any other projects for my truck that would be a nice beginner project? Or something for the garage I could build as a project?

Hey guys, quick question about clearance.
I have a stock 2011 fx4 screw with 20s (stock 32" tires), and am at the time I need a new set of tires. I want to go bigger and try to stay a little conservative on the gas, so I was looking at some Nitto Terra Grapplers 275/65R20 (34" tires). I also have a 2" Autospring front lift kit that I'm going to put on at the same time to level it out. With the front leveling kit, does anyone see any clearance issues? I would expect not, but just looking for opinions. Also, I wouldn't see a true 4" lift on the front correct? Probably something like 3"-3.5" right? Opinions appreciated, thanks!

So I dropped the truck off to get some aftermarket work done and it was time for an oil change so I asked the shop to change my oil and rotate my tires, a service they offered. Kill 2 birds with one stone. I am suspect that they did not rotate my tires. I ask several times at different times to the 3 different guys who worked on my truck. All of them said one of the others must have rotated them because they didn't when I asked individually. Also I have aftermarket tires that have a lock and they never asked for it or called. One of the guys (manager) says he has wheel locks for any wheel and they must have used his tools. LOL I asked WTF was the point in buying them then.

Then today I went back to pick up old exhaust and then again asked nonchalantly the 2 guys when manager wasn't present (guy who said they used his tools to take off wheels) how did they rotate if they didn't use lock tool, and they both said that (manager with wheel locks) was the definitely one that rotated tires, even though he told me he didn't rotate them before.

Im pretty sure they are bull$hiT. I am going to go back in there to confront them and get my tires rotated because I paid for it and wanted it done. I think they got overwhelmed and instead of admitting the mistake they just bullshitted me. Makes me think if they even changed my oil now LOL and what other stuff they overlooked. What do you guys think how often does this happen where something gets overlooked. I usually bring truck into ford but its way more $$$ and they take sooo long plus with all the mods I don't need them flagging my vehicle. I would like to help the mom and pop local stores but after this experience I just don't know anymore. Next time I get my tires rotated Im chalking the inside of the tires.

So I'm proud to say that I just bought my very first pickup of any kind. 2013 Ford F150 XLT Texas Edition (of course) 4WD.

No fancy bucket seats or in dash navigation or any of the other luxuries I don't need and would never use, but I must say that I've always wanted to own a truck and dang it, I finally have one, and I must say I've never been happier with any other new vehicle I've bought. Is that weird?

So I just wanted to run one thing past y'all. I called the dealership back and asked if they had a ford approved lift, and I was told that the only thing I could do that wouldn't void my warranty is putting on a 2 inch leveling kit? And that anything else would void my factory warranty?

Is that true? Dodge lets you lift their trucks as long as you use MOPAR parts and have the dealership install it for you. Y'all have any advice for me at all?

Just bought my first Ford... F150 Lariat.

Anyway, I won a set of Rigid Dually's LED Floods. I'm planning to install the to the "shackles" under the bed/ bumper. I'm going to wire them direct to the battery and use the supplied switch.

Sine this truck is Brand new, I'm a little apprehensive about messing up by drilling a hole under the steering wheel panel or under panel next to the interior light dimmer switch.... So my question is what size drill bit does the Dually switch so the hole I drill matches "perfect" and it fits clean.

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys,

I have a 98 4x4 with 288,000 miles. The motor was replaced and auto 4r70w tranny rebuilt by the previous owner. I recently had a bad tranny oil leak from the cooler lines which caused my fluid level to be low. I just changed them and refilled fluid but my transmission still feels really weak and seems to slip. From a stop, it will not really coast when i take my foot off the brake. It will not hold a hill in 3rd or 4th gear and sometimes on the downshift it will slip and feels like it is searching for a gear. When climbing a steep hill it will slip to around 2200 rpm then jam into gear and kick forward. And from OD on the highway it will downshift fine but it wont gain any speed. It just feels like its not hooking up completely. I plan on changing the trans filter to see if that may be the culprit. Is my tranny going bad altogether or does this sound like something else? Anyone have similar things? Thanks for any help!
